The Naked Truth About MLM and Leads.
I have been coaching people for over twenty five years in business. My coaching practice is a very lucrative one and my client base is high income earners. I coach them how to avoid the pitfalls of the financial institutions and where the financial planners and advisors set them up for failure. I actually prove that the majority of the information is not true and harmful to consumers. I teach clients how to think like a financial institution instead of letting the financial institution take advantage of them
Occasionally from time to time a client will read and decide to enter a MLM [Multi Level Marketing] business. They will read about how people make millions and want to cash in on the prize. When this occurs we have a heart-to-heart talk. We get into the naked truth about MLM, Network Marketing and leads.
Now remember these people are high net worth earners so for any of you out there that think MLM is strictly for low income people you are sadly mistaken. People from all walks of life enter into these type of businesses.
Don't get me wrong, I love MLM and Network Marketing. These types of businesses can be very profitable and make people hundreds of thousands of dollars but with the wrong expectations can devastate an individual's moral. Approaching these types of businesses with the right frame of mind is essential. You must understand that a MLM or Network Marketing business is just like building your own business from scratch, except you have the positive aspects of not having to build a back office or carry inventory. This is why the costs are low to get in to the business.
Because of the low cost people think that the business is not worthwhile. They think that they need to spend huge sums of money for inventory to get started. Not True! I have seen businesses that have low entrance fees become huge money makers.
Naked Truth Number One:
- You do not have to spend a lot of money to get into a MLM or Network Marketing business to make money. Although when you spend a lot of money so are others and your commissions are driven by the dollars you sell. But there are a lot of business that charge a small amount to get in and through mass sales you can make a lot of money. But for Pete's sake don't use a company that has just started last week. There are lots of them that advertise "Get in on the ground floor", and you end up working like mad and they never pay you for your efforts.
Naked Truth Number Two:
- When you go with a MLM or Network Company make sure that you don't buy their leads. Most of the time the leads they sell are junk and are circulated and sold to many people at the same time. I don't know how these lead generation companies look at themselves in the mirror in the morning. Selling the same leads to different people is just plain wrong. If all these leads were as good as they say the are then you would be paying big bucks for them but yet they sell thousands of leads for peanuts. My father used to say "Pay peanuts and you get monkeys".
Naked Truth Number Three:
- Find a MLM or Network Marketing Company that gives you great live training. You want to hear live people telling you how to build your business. You also want people who are successful at running a home based business to teach you. Don't buy courses or training get the people who want you to join their business to train you. Never pay for the training, it should be part of the package. The only thing that you should spend money on are marketing tools and that needs to be controlled. - Make sure that anyone that teaches you makes sure that you put together a business plan and that you understand that building a business will not happen overnight. One of the problems with business people who decide to start their own business is lack of financial education and you need to understand that this is your future and treat it as such. This article is written to merely give you some insight into what to look out for when deciding to begin your own business. Now I know you are probably saying that you know all of this, but still even though this information is common knowledge people still spend huge sums of money looking for the magic bullet to make them rich. Intelligent, highly educated people get caught up in the whirl wind of marketing, and believe the hype, then spend the money and wonder why they aren't rich.
When I coach people I make sure that they are not buying into the hype and know that we are hear to build a business. I want successes not failures so I screen people who want to work with me. I train them personally as well as using other trainers to teach people so when we are finished with the people we are coaching they understand how to build a business on the internet.
