This will tell you exactly where they stand, and even more important, what you will expect from that company. If those policies and procedures are not readily available before you join, do NOT sign the I accept button. Any credible and legitimate online business posts their policies right up front for the world to see. They tell you step by step how their business operates, the refund offers and how to contact the customer support team if you have any more questions. I also believe that you should be able to contact the owner of any company to get a feel for what his or her views are about the people that join their organization. Ok, these people may be gurus, but after all, you are spending your money with them. Should you not have the right to speak directly with them? I believe that this is not only your right, but your responsibility.
You should also do a Google search on the company. After all, Googling a company or an individual will tell you exactly what they have done online, or what they have not done. Its funny really, that most people fail to utilize the very thing that they are so desperately trying to gain notoriety on. You should also speak directly with other members who are in the program to see what kind of results they are having. Don't ever ask them how much money they have made. Just find out their perspectives on the company as a whole, to see if this particular organization is a fit for you.
In trying to market goods and services online, never involve your family and friends. You family will haunt you forever if the making money endeavor is not giving the results you hope for, and your friends will never let you live down the big mistake. Conversely, never join an online business with that relative or friend either. The same results will happen. Just because one of your buddies tells you that this company is the best thing since sliced bread, and you would be crazy not to join their cause, politely saying no is the rule of thumb in making money online.
Check out the website that you will become the proud owner of and see if that site is search engine friendly. You may not be aware of this at this time, but almost all affiliate websites are not promotable on the internet. The way around this dilemma is to construct your own site, with your own domain. This is the norm for marketing on Google. You must set about your own path to have success online. There is no way around that. You must begin the process of branding your name and your opportunity online. Trying to hide your online presence is like cutting off your nose to spite your face.
