Having been in the leads industry for quite some time, I am going to tell you a story about leads, lead generation, leads generating and other timely leads topics. I am not ashamed to admit that I have bought leads. I have bought leads recently as a matter of fact. You may think this somewhat of a parody since my prime focus in life is search engine optimization, search engine marketing and building a stable online business. The reason I bought leads is obvious. I wanted to see the results in buying leads as opposed to the leads that I obviously know to generate myself. The results that I am posting are real time. Nothing is held back or made to appear better or worse than they are. So, what about leads and buying leads? Read on!
I bought leads from a company called InstantVoiceLeads.com This company has a new twist to lead generation in that the leads that you purchase here come with a voice mail attachment. In other words, you get to hear the person speaking talking about their name, phone number, email address, their interest in starting a home business, how much money they are willing to invest and some other details. I have spent over $600 for these leads to date. I have passed these leads over to my phone professionals for contact. You probably are aware at this time that I own Phase IV Marketing Group.
Here are the results of my online marketing so far with leads I purchased.
I have made one sale of jag marketing. This yielded a $3000 profit to me. This was due to my purchase of the leads for $600. This is not a bad ROI in my opinion.

The Process of Lead Generation (I)
In this series of blog posts, Bill Brine, Lead Generation Specialist, explores the process of lead generation.
Have you ever purchased leads for your business? Did you ever wonder how these leads were generated and why they are typically so unresponsive? Have you spent lots of money on purchased leads, only to find that a very small percentage of these leads are interested?
The process of lead generation boils down to a seemingly simple process: offer someone a useful product or service in exchange for their contact information and permission to contact them. Then, if you are in the lead generation business, you will resell that contact information to companies who are willing to pay for fresh leads in whatever market you are targeting.
In many cases, the companies that do this sort of thing are bringing in a broad spectrum of leads that are not really all that interested in the offers that come their way. These leads just wanted to get something for free.
This is especially true in the home business industry. There are tons of lead generation sites our there giving away free things of every description, and usually there will be a checkbox on the page (already checked off) that indicates that the person would like to receive information on starting a home business, when all the person really wanted was the free stuff. Then the contact information is resold many times over. The result? The lead gets all kinds of phone calls from people he or she never heard of, trying to recruit them for many different kinds of 'business opportunities'. No wonder these kinds of leads are almost worthless!
Now of course you can increase the quality of the leads by giving more targeted free stuff. Some lead generation companies all also 'survey' the leads by phone to further qualify them. These types of leads are of better quality, and of course are more expensive. But you still run into the same problem - when you call they have never heard of you and so are hesitant to enter into any sort of discussion. Unless you are a master closer you will experience a lot of frustration and rejection.
So what's the solution?
Well, you have to learn how to generate your own, exclusive leads. Leads that are interested in your product, Leads that have already been pre-qualified as good business leads. And leads that have become familiar with your name before you contact them.

If you're anything like me, you've probably created a new website, submitted it to
a few search engines and hoped that people would find your site and buy whatever it is you were selling.
After a couple of weeks go by and only a few people show up at your website, you
decide to try and "optimize" your website around your main keyword in hopes that you
just might rank well in 1 of the Billions of search engines. Another couple of weeks go by and still no luck.
At this point you are probably ready to give up and decide to either build another website with different Keyword or just quit.
Well, as you've probably figured out by now, this is not the way to go about doing things.
In our example, let's create a Leads Generation website. Our Leads Generation website will primarily sell a Leads Generation System. Before we start creating and collecting content for the website we need to do a little keyword research. This is VERY important and should not be skipped. To do our keyword research we need to visit a few websites.
The first of which should be http://www.goodkeywords.com.
They have a very good keyword tool and best of all, it's free! Once we've downloaded
this software, we can enter the most generic keyword for our website into the software.
In my example, our keyword would be " Leads Generation ".
You'll notice that Good Keywords will return a list of related terms. The "count" column will then show us how many times the specific keyword has been searched for the previous month within the Overture.com search engine.
Normally, you can take that number times 8, in order to estimate the number of times
that the keyword has been searched for within Google for the previous month.
